Day 1: After an early morning pick up from Adelaide we head down the Dukes Highway past the beautiful wetlands of the river Murray towards the state of Victoria. In the afternoon we arrive at the Grampians National Park.
Here we visit and walk through some of the spectacular sights of this wondrous natural area including cascading waterfalls, cliff-top views, ancient and rare woodlands and habitat to many Australian species of wildlife. We settle in for the evening in a cosy cottage and indulge in a home-cooked meal.
Day 2: Today we set off south through the Grampians National Park to see a view more scenic sights before heading out to one of the beautiful country towns of Victoria called Ballarat. Here we spend the night in an authentic, early, pioneer village with surprises that will dazzle your senses.
Day 3: This day takes us through the midlands to the coastal town of Geelong where we travel south to the famous surf village of Torquay. It is here where we start following the coast past the popular Bells Beach on to Lorne, the beginning of the beautiful Otway Ranges. A tree top walk, glorious beaches, quaint coastal villages are some of the highlights of today.
Day 4: A short journey finds us at the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and stunning limestone cliffs. Here you will have a chance for a helicopter flight to experience the glorious Great Ocean Road from a birds-eye view. During our lunch break you will get the chance to make close contact with wild koalas and other wildlife at Tower Hill, an extinct volcano flourishing with flora and fauna. In the afternoon we travel around Portland Bay and depending on the sea we will take a speedboat ride to see the seals at Cape Bridgewater. This evening we settle in our accommodation along the Limestone coast where we indulge in a local seafood feast.
Day 5: The final journey back to Adelaide stretches along the lower coastline of South Australia through small fishing villages till we meet the Coorong. Here you will be amazed by the beautiful blend of waterways and lagoons, unique flora, fauna and a spectacular dune system with the back-drop of the thundering Great Southern Ocean. This afternoon we visit the original inhabitants of the Coorong the “Ngarrindjeri”. After following the shores of Lake Alexandrina we stop at Australia’s oldest winery to sample some of their great award winning wines. A leisurely drive takes us back into Adelaide where we drop you off at your accommodation.
